The Last Resort

"The Last Resort"
by:
The Eagles

She came from Providence,
the one in Rhode Island
Where the old world shadows hang
heavy in the air.
She packed her hopes and dreams
like a refugee.
Just as her father came across the sea.

She heard about a place people were smilin'
They spoke about the red man's way,
and how they loved the land.
And they came from everywhere
to the Great Divide
Seeking a place to stand,
or a place to hide.

Down in the crowded bars,
out for a good time,
"Can't wait to tell you all,
what it's like up there."
And they called it paradise
I don't know why.
Somebody laid the mountains low
while the town got high.

Then the chilly winds blew down
Across the desert
Through the canyons of the coast, to
the Malibu.
Where the pretty people play,
hungry for power
to light their neon way
and give them things to do.

Some rich men came and raped the land,
Nobody caught 'em.
Put up a bunch of ugly boxes, and Jesus'
people bought 'em.
And they called it paradise
The place to be;
They watched the hazy sun, sinking in the sea.

You can leave it all behind
and sail to Lahaina;
just like the missionaries did, so many years ago.
They even brought a neon sign:"Jesus is coming"
Brought the white man's burden down,
Brought the white man's reign.

Who will provide the grand design?
What is yours and what is mine?
'Cause there is no more new frontier,
We have got to make it here.

We satisfy our endless needs and
justify our bloody deeds;
in the name of destiny
and in the name of God.

And you can see them there,
On Sunday morning.
Stand up and sing about
What it's like up there.
They called it 'paradise'
I don't know why.
You call someplace paradise,
kiss it goodbye...

Man, how I love The Eagles.

Come Winter...

"We put no stumbling block in anyone's path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance: in troubles, in hardships and distresses; in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything."
-2 Corinthians 6:3-10

I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business

"Ok, I Believe You, but My SHOVEL Don't..."

Lyrics that please me...

"Timshel"
by:
I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody's Business

"I sink into the wall.
And staring up I saw,
I'm alone in all my thoughts,
Too afraid to be crazy I run.
It always finds me driving right through town,
With the windows down I fly.
Its the feeling spring has brought,
But an eye for the winter's what I got,
It always finds me...

So tonight,
When I left here,
All said was goodbye and thats alright.
No "I'll see you later",
I've been trying my whole life.
And if its an eye for an eye why cant I get this right?
I'm too slow to go fast,
I'm too nervous to do that,
So I run, run away. Why should I?...

I take my chances slow,
After all it's no one's fault.
But the pain seems to crave my life,
So ashamed of my weakness I lie.
It always finds me...

So tonight
When I left here,
All I said was goodbye and thats alright.
No "I'll see you later",
I've been trying my whole life.
And if its an eye for an eye why cant i get this right?
I'm too slow to go fast,
I'm too nervous to do that.
So I run, run away. Why should I?...

Why should I?
Why should I?
Why should I?"

...And the Life I Have

The Sun is out
I am Happy.

And this could be another reason for my happiness:

And this:

Wait... And this:

And this... Of course:

But most of all:

I'm not sure how I became deserving of all this, but I grow more and more grateful everyday that passes for all I've been given. My life would be empty without the Lords grace and mercy to drive me to become better and better in the eyes of He that matters most...

God is Good...All the Time.

I Can't Hide From My Own Eyes...

So, politics:

I was talking to my friends yesterday, and my sister, and I have decided that I don't care if we have an African American president, nor do I care of McCain wins. My mentality is this:

ANYBODY BUT HILARY.

Then I also came to this conclusion: God won't let Hilary Clinton win the election, nor will He, the Lord Almighty, allow a woman to lead this country. I am not a sexist by any means, but I am well aware of the emotional instability that lies within all women. All women. Hilary's interview proved it, where she burst out crying while speaking of "plans" for this country. If she did become president, and I were a terrorist, I would bomb the flahootie out of the capital city due to stupidity. All countries would laugh at us, without a doubt. And, according most recent polls: if Obama wins the Democratic majority vote, and McCain wins the Republican vote; Obama will have a better chance of beating McCain. If Hilary wins the Democratic vote (hell on earth), and McCain wins the Republicans, McCain would annihilate Hilary in a no-contest battle. Hilary starts out with 47% of the country against her... HA! Not a really good place to start out, I'd say.

So, let us all rejoice in the fact that God is Good All the Time and He who is Holy will not let someone such as Hilary win the most powerful position in the entire world... Amen?

And When It's All Over, We Still Have Each Other...

My To-Do List:
(I thought I was kind of stupid doing this, but the I remembered Angela did it,
and then Carmen did it, and anything Angela does is ALWAYS cool, and everything
Carmen does is perfect, so...)

-Math Test
-Finish Halo 3 with Londo
-Start my take-home quiz from Comm. Class
-Drink Coffee
-Take Travis out to dinner
-Start playing Halo 3 again with Londo
-Sleep (?)

It's Friday, and I'm pumped. My life has been blessed this past week, and just in that time I have a whole new outlook on my life so far. I am continuing to become more of a Christ-like example, and it's great.

My new favorite band is "Daphne Loves Derby" (Kayla will probably tell me she's glad I'm a 14-year-old girl, because that's what she said when I told her I liked "The Academy Is..."). Their acoustic album is great, and I highly recommend it to all who like an easy listen, or need a musical "out." My favorite song by them right now is called "Hopeless Love," which says absolutely nothing about Carmen and I. We're not hopeless loves, we're hopelessly in love, so... take that.

Wind sucks, but God is Good, All the Time...

Let's party

So I'll Stay Here, But Be Gone For Another Year...

So, as we all know, last week was basically a week off of school... Basically... And in such actions, obviously homework is not a priority, so naturally time is spent with friends, movies, and video games. I can just say right now that I'm never putting homework off again. I feel stupid. Homework will be conquered, and I will win! Whaaaahahahahahaha!!!

Anyway, I love Carmen, and that's pretty much all my life amounts to right now. Carmen, you are the center of my universe, and I love you with all the love one could love a lover with...

Be with me forever, my love...

It was meant to be...
